So my network got hacked Empty So my network got hacked

Must have been easy. I had my WEP turned off so that I could use my DS freely on the WiFi. Well so I'm playing Ace Attorney and I hit a wall so I go to GameFAQs and just as I pull up the guide and find the place I'm at, my porn folder JUMPS up and maximizes.

You can imagine I would have been freaked out. But for some reason I wasn't. I just kind of stared at it as though maybe some buttons I pressed caused the problem. But just to be safe I went and did a netstat -a in the command prompt. No one was connected to my computer, all the listening ports were just using MSN and the only connection open was GameFAQs on HTTP port 80.

So I'm about to write it off as a weird fluke but it really bothered me that this SPECIFIC folder came up. I mean out of the hundreds of folders that could randomly come up, it was a folder 7 deep, one of which has literally no name and is therefore blank when you open it. It seemed like human error, not computer error because the folder was 1 inside the main (blank) folder. So just to be sure, I was going to go check my router's attached devices and add the WEP on for now.

But when I tried to login to my router's page, it said to me "192.168.1.6" is currently configuring it. Well both my parents were asleep and my computer is 1.17 not 1.6. Not to mention the URL suddenly changed to have the word "hijack" in it (which could be a function of the router just letting you know someone else was on) but at this point I knew for certain someone was on my network. Though how the hell they saw any of my files is impossible for me to guess. I have my computer completely walled off from the network and I use Vista's built in security settings on top of that.

So I go unplug the router for a few seconds, just to disconnect the uninvited guest, and I reset the router login password (which apparently had been reset too. I tried "beulah" which is what it was but apparently it was changed back to the factory "password"). I login, I verify that the hacker hasn't reconnected, I setup WEP.

And now I'm sitting here running a file shredder at 22M (DoD standard) so that the files will be completely unrecoverable.

Just thought it was weird. Never imagined I'd get "hacked". Though connecting to the network must have been easy. The hard part would have been somehow pulling up the files on my computer of all things. I almost wish the hacker had left a .txt file on my desktop explaining how exactly he did that.
